On The Road: BRING Recycling Tour
AOR's second "On the Road Tour" was held on September 29 in Eugene at Lane Community College, Bring Recycling, and the Lane County Transfer Station. We had an intimate group of roughly 20 AOR members from all over the northwest. One member even joined us from Port Angeles, Washington!
DEQ Announces 2015 Materials Management Grants
On September 15, 2015, DEQ will open its 2015 round of materials management grants for projects that prevent, recover, or reuse solid and household hazardous wastes. DEQ expects to award up to $500,000 in materials management and HHW grants to local governments from across the state in early 2016.

In 2012, Oregon's Environmental Quality Commission adopted Materials Management in Oregon: 2050 Vision and Framework for Action. This month, the Oregon legislature adopted SB 245 and SB 263. SB 263 was signed by Governor Brown on June 22 and SB 245 will be headed to the Governor’s desk for signature in the coming days.
BRING Names New Executive Director
BRING’s board of directors has named Carolyn Stein as the organization’s new executive director, replacing Julie Daniel who retired at the end of May.

Oregon E-Cycles Now Accepts Printers, Keyboard, and Mice
As of Jan 1, 2015, Oregon E-Cycles, the state's electronics recycling program collects printers and computer peripherals (keyboards and mice) in addition to computers, monitors, and TVs. The program, administered by AOR member the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), just completed its sixth year of collecting and recycling electronics.
