What is your name? Molly Haydon

Where do you work and what do you do? I am a small business owner. I have a company called “Lifestyle Check-up” and I teach a 6 class course based in an Ayurvedic health system to help get people to a balanced state. I focus on the six pillars of health: movement, nutrition, mindfulness, grounded emotions, self-care and sleep.

What is your name? Camelia Moss

Where do you work and what do you do? Camelias Candles. I return burned, broken and unwanted candles to the circular economy. I also provoide job skills to to the local Lebanon Community and help local micropreneurs learn skills to grow their businesses.

Tell us how you embrace recycling/sustainability into your home or workplace? Since I started my business in 2011 I have returned over 80 tons of besswax, paraffin and soy wax to the circular econom as well as jars, wicks, and tabs.

In what University/College are you currently enrolled, or if an Americorps Volunteer, where are you working/volunteering? Not enrolled in a college or University but always wanted to study Black history.

AOR Receives a Metro Investment and Innovation Grant to Transcreate our Recycling 101 online course.

The grant will allow us to transcreate our online course, Recycling 101, into Spanish and offer the course for free to Spanish-speaking communities throughout Oregon. Recycling 101 is a self-guided 8-part online course hosted online by Oregon State University that includes comprehensive information about sustainable materials management.

Holly Stirnkorb is a Principal Planner for Metro’s Waste Prevention and Environmental Services Policy and Program Development team. Holly brings more than two decades of public and private sector experience to her role at Metro where she is responsible for leading projects, developing and implementing policies, and collaborating with others to advance efforts to prevent and reduce waste.
