QFC and Fred Meyer will stop using plastic bags
Kroger announced last week they will remove single-use plastic bags from its stores, beginning with its Bellevue, Wash.-based QFC locations next year.
The Cincinnati-based company will make the transition to reusable bags at all of its 2,800 store by 2025, it said Thursday morning.
There are 63 QFC stores in Western Washington and Portland, as well as 132 Fred Meyer stores in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The Portland area alone hosts 17 Fred Meyer stores.
