In this webinar, co-hosted by NERC & NEWMOA, presenters from ReFED and the Harvard University Food Law and Policy Clinic will share the latest ideas and information on reducing wasted food and recovering and diverting what can't be reduced.  Topics that will be covered include new tools and information from ReFED and on date labeling of food.

Industry expert, Joseph Pickard (Chief Economist and Director of Communications, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI)) will provide an update of the metal commodities markets with a focus on recycled scrap metal, and the impact of China's import restrictions and the U.S. / China trade negotiations.

This webinar will focus on the nuts and bolts of community composting, from siting and feedstock collection to system management and composting through the winter.  During the webinar, siting considerations, choosing a system, determining site capacity, and system management will be addressed. Lessons learned through case studies of community composting at rural sites, community gardens, and housing developments will also be shared.
