One of the Electronic Reusing Association’s (ERA) prime missions is to help other immigrants and charities needing technology. ERA focuses on reusing and refurbishing laptops, computers, monitors, servers, printers, cell phones and many other electronic devices. As a non-profit, they strongly believe in tackling the growing problem of e-waste. In a short time, they have become industry leaders in data destruction and securely repurposing hundreds of tons of equipment.
The Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G), headquartered in Cincinnati, used the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, to announce a new partnership that further advances P&G’s Ambition 2030 sustainability goals.
P&G has partnered with Loop, a circular e-commerce platform developed by TerraCycle, Trenton, New Jersey, to introduce “collect and recycle” circular solutions designed to eliminate packaging waste. P&G says many of its largest global brands, including Pantene, Tide, Cascade and Oral-B, will participate in this platform later this year.
Surya Raghavendran of Ann Arbor, Michigan isn’t your average 17-year-old. Not only does the high school senior run a small business repairing iPhones when he’s not in class, but he’s raising awareness about people’s right to fix their own devices without paying companies like Apple exorbitant fees.
