The Oregon Beverage Recycling CooperativeThe Dalles Disposal, Hood River Garbage, and Wasco County Landfill!

DATE: Wednesday, September 27th, 2017

TIME: 8:30am - 6:30pm

WHERE: Dirt Hugger, Renewal Workshop, Double Mountain Brewery (Departure and Return to Metro, at 600 NE Grand Ave.)

DESCRIPTION: This "On the Road Tour" will hit the road as we charter a bus out to The Gorge to check out three unique businesses who are all doing "one-of-a-kind" activities in the sustainable materials management industry.

We will gather at Metro where we'll board our EcoShuttle and depart by 8:30am.

Our first stop will be in Dallesport, WA where we will be get an in-depth tour of Dirt Hugger's new facility, and the only in-floor aeration system in the area.

We will then head into Hood River for lunch complete with pizza and beverages at the Double Mountain Brewery where attendees can network and get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Refillable Bottle Project with OBRC works on the ground.

Our next stop will take us to Cascade Locks to the Renewal Workshop. The workshop is unique in that it takes tons of of clothing and textiles from major retail brands and diverts them from landfill by making them into renewed apparel, upcycled materials, and recyclable feedstock.

We'll end the day with a no-host happy hour and networking at Thunder Island Brewing and anticipate a return time to Portland of around 6:30pm, unless the group decides to head back after the Renewal Workshop Tour - we can decide that day!

We are planning for speakers on the way to our tour destinations, which are still TBD.
