Tell us how you enbrace recycling/sustainability into your home or workplace?
My constant questions: Do I really need that? if so, what will happen to it and its packaging once I'm done with it? Reducing consumption, and finding a way to reuse or recycle any byproducts of that consumption are the primary goals in every one of my choices. I try to impart these principles on all those with which I interact.
What motivates you to recycle and live sustainably?
The hustle and bustle of everyday life has lead many to believe that living in true harmony with our environment is unimportant and unachievable; to many people, society is above any real critical reflection on that matter. It is interesting and important for me to reflect on whether my actions and those of others are in optimized harmony with the Earth and if not, investigate what can be done to repair that disconnect. It is the right thing for each of us as citizens and temporary overseers of Earth to do this for ourselves, future generations, and for the Earth.
If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
I'd be a bird, soaring like a raptor or fast and agile like a hummingbird or swift. Flight would give me access to places and views my human body can't reach.
How did you learn about AOR?
A friend informed me of your organization; maybe she'll join me as a member.
