Washington County’s Solid Waste & Recycling (SW&R) Division within Health & Human Services (HHS) is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, policy-focused professional to serve as our next Senior Policy Coordinator. This position strengthens the County’s regulatory framework, supports complex code and rule updates, manages advisory bodies, and ensures alignment with evolving state and regional environmental policies.

Audit Center Program Coordinator, COR Disposal & Recycling

The Audit Center Program Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining daily operations of the Contamination Audit Center (CAC), the first statewide recycling auditing program in the U.S. The CAC functions in partnership with the Circular Action Alliance (CAA), the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) administering Oregon's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program. COR administers the program and works in conjunction with CAA to develop, operate, and grow the CAC's capacity as a material characterization center.

This is an entry-level administrative position with clear potential for growth into a supervisory role. The Program Coordinator will ensure that daily audit operations run successfully and oversee data management from the audit to the client. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has a full-time opportunity available for a Deputy Director (Deputy/Chief 6). You will lead and direct the administration of implementing and enforcing laws regulating air, water, and land pollution; administer authorities delegated by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) including the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Acts; administer state statutes including air, water, waste, and environmental cleanup; ensure the integration of environmental justice across agency programs; serve on behalf of the Director as an attendee of the Governor’s cabinet; and assist on behalf of the Director in efforts to coordinate Natural Resource Agencies.
