- Date: Dec. 6, 8:30am-12:30pm Pacific
- Location: City Council Chambers, Federal Way, WA
- Description: Hear about the impacts of the China National Sword policy on our state's recycling infrastructure at the Washington State Recycling Association's (WSRA) Fall Policy Forum. Speakers will go over China's ban on 24 categories of waste and recyclables that is slated to begin Jan. 1, 2018. China is the primary buyer for many of these materials which include various grades of plastics and mixed papers. Already, export permit licenses are not being renewed and local brokers are having difficulty finding markets for various materials. Also, hear about bills that will be introduced and the impact they may have on the recycling and solid waste industry coming up in the Washington legislature's January 60-day session. Free and open to the public, please RSVP.
