Welcome New AOR Member Waste-Free Advocates

3 Sep 2021

Welcome

What is the name of your business or organization?

Waste-Free Advocates (formerly Recycling Advocates)

What does your business/organization do?

We empower and connect Oregon communities to minimize overconsumption and waste.

Tell us about your business/organization's recycling/sustainability practices.

We envision a waste-free Oregon with a thriving circular economy with access to zero-waste resources and education for all.

Our 4 goals/priorities for the coming year are:

  • Be ambassadors for zero-waste.
  • Engage new communities and voices.
  • Support statewide composting.
  • Grow the capacity and influence of the organization.

How would you describe your work culture?

We are an all-volunteer-based board and our efforts are driven from individuals' passions to see Oregon become a more sustainable state.

What motivates your employees to meet your recycling/sustainability goals?

We do not currently have employees. However, every board member is personally dedicated to living a sustainable lifestyle.

If your business or organization was an animal, which one would it be and why?

A bee. We approach problems and solutions with a hive mentality and look to educate individuals and arm them with the resources to make positive sustainable changes. Kind of like a bee pollinating flowers, we want to spread our knowledge far and wide.

How did you learn about AOR?

Through board members.
