State Actions to Address Recycling Market Changes
During the past year, the Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials (ASTSWMO) Sustainable Materials Management Task Force conducted a survey of State solid waste and recycling programs to better understand how they are responding to the restrictions imposed by China and other countries on the importation of materials for recycling, particularly paper and plastic. Survey results are available on the ASTSWMO webpage, State Actions to Address Recycling Market Changes - http://astswmo.org/state-actions-to-address-recycling-market-changes/. This free webinar will share the results of this survey. It is co-sponsored by ASTSWMO, the Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA), and the Northeast Recycling Council (NERC). Presenters will include Task Force Members Janine Bogar, WA State Department of Ecology; James Jennings, IL Environmental Protection Agency; Jeremy Hooper, TN Department of Environment and Conservation; Adam Schlachter, DE Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control; and Angela Vincent, CA Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). The panelists will speak for about one hour followed by about 25 minutes for questions and answers.
