Waste-Free Advocates and Bold Reuse Collaborate on a Circular Economy for Groceries
Grocery shopping is getting an upgrade in Portland, OR!
Starting in January, 2023, it will be possible to buy and use a product, and then drop it off to be sanitized and refilled for a future customer. Instead of consuming energy by recycling and using raw materials to create new packaging, bottles and jars will simply stay in use.
This new model is being spearheaded by Bold Reuse (formerly known as GO Box) and New Seasons Market through the backing of Metro’s Investment and Innovation Grant. Waste-Free Advocates is excited to be collaborating with them to help spread the word!
Begin looking for a select group of your favorite local brands and products in New Seasons this January. Support this new circular model by buying the products and returning them to the store once you’re finished.
