Please join Oregon DEQ for a project update and engagement session for the Reuse, Repair and Product Lifespan Extension project. At this meeting, participants will be asked to assess 11 options DEQ has identified as potential projects or activities that can reduce environmental impacts through extending the lifespan of products via repair or reuse, including support for Oregon’s repair and reuse industries.

The purpose of the meeting is for DEQ to gather your input and feedback on the options. DEQ will use your feedback this summer as we develop a strategic plan that will guide our upcoming work in this area over the next five years.  As a reminder, the Repair, Reuse and Product Lifespan Extension Project is a new project as Oregon DEQ works with partners to implement Oregon’s 2050 Vision and Framework for Action for Materials Management (please note, this link will open the report as a PDF).

Participants will be asked to prepare for the meeting by reading a short Options Paper that summarizes the ideas that will be presented and discussed at the meeting. The Options Paper is supported by a comprehensive Background Paper, which will also be provided as optional supplemental reading material. These papers will be finalized in early June and distributed electronically.
