Meet New AOR Member: Stephanie Krauss
What is your name? Stephanie Kraus
Where do you work and what do you do? I work for Sustainable Generation, a compost technology company focused on helping composters improve their processes.
Tell us how you embrace recycling/sustainability into your home or workplace? In both my home and workplace, I've made conscious efforts to integrate recycling and sustainability practices into our daily routines. We prioritize reducing waste by opting for reusable items like water bottles, coffee cups, and lunch containers. This simple switch significantly minimizes our reliance on single-use plastics. At home, we've initiated a composting system for organic waste such as food scraps and yard trimmings. Not only does this reduce our landfill waste, but it also creates nutrient-rich soil for our garden. We constantly seek opportunities to further reduce our environmental footprint.
What motivates you to recycle and live sustainably? For me, the motivation to recycle and live sustainably stems from a deep sense of responsibility towards the planet and future generations.
If you were an animal, which one would you be and why? If I were an animal, I would likely be a wolf. Wolves are known for their intelligence, adaptability, and strong sense of loyalty to their pack. These traits resonate with me because I value both independence and community. Like a wolf, I appreciate the importance of working together with others towards common goals, while also recognizing the significance of individual freedom and personal growth.
How did you learn about AOR? Talking to Nora Goldstein from Biocycle.
