AOR New Member Spotlight: Meet Rodney Bloom
What is your name? Rodney Bloom
Where do you work and what do you do? University of Oregon, Coordinator of Facilities/Custodial Coordinator
Tell us how you embrace recycling/sustainability into your home or workplace? Composting is the lens through which I see the world. By practicing, advocating and sharing my knowledge of composting I know that I am able to make the world a better place in the most fundamental of terms for all living creatures.
What motivates you to recycle and live sustainably? Congruity of spirit, hope and legacy.
If you were an animal, which one would you be and why? I choose to remain a human. Though our capacity for destruction and exploitation is profound, I believe our capacity for love and regeneration to be much greater, both of which the world is in much need of. Keep the spirit and spread it around.
How did you learn about AOR? From the good people at Food For Lane County. My first talk on composting was through them at an AOR conference in 2001.
