We are cruising to the coast and making a stop along the way!
We'll start the day at Recology Organics (formerly Nature's Needs) in North Plains. The facility processes approximately 50,000 tons of yard trimmings, municipal organics, and land clearing materials each year!
We'll then make our way to Astoria and stop for lunch and tour Buoy Beer one of the state's breweries using refillable bottles!
Next we'll head over to the Astoria Transfer Station, a regional transfer station that accepts residential and commercial garbage, and offers recycling of wood, scrap metal, yard debris, electronics, tires, wood and appliances. The site also has a public recycling depot for mixed recyclables, cardboard, plastic bottles, glass bottles & jars, and tin & aluminum cans.
The day will end with a special behind the scenes tour of the soon-to-open Clastop County HHW Facility!
PLEASE NOTE: To attend this tour, you MUST take the provided transportation, no exceptions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
All attendees will be required to wear closed toe shoes, safety vests, and hard hats at the facilities, and we encourage you to bring your own if you have them.
