As AOR’s new fundraising chair, I’ve been working on a fundraising plan for 2015 and beyond. Our goal for this year is to raise $5,000 in additional funds. This spring we are holding a 50/50 raffle in which one lucky winner will take home half of the proceeds of the raffle. The more tickets that are sold, the bigger the pot grows. 

Each ticket is $20. Our goal is to sell 250 tickets, which will result in a pot of $5,000, half of which will go to the winner! 

Tickets are available for purchase online from April 29 to June 2. Tickets will be available for purchase in person at Sustainable Oregon 2015, AOR's annual conference, at the Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center in Bend June 3-5. The winner will be selected on June 5 at 2pm and announced at the conference. You do not need to be present to win.

Rules & Considerations

1. DESCRIPTION: The 50/50 Raffle is a raffle where tickets are sold online from April 29 - June 2, 2015 and in person at the Association of Oregon Recyclers' (AOR) Sustainable Oregon 2015 conference June 3-5, 2015. Tickets are $20 each. A maximum of 250 tickets will be sold. A winner will be selected at random and announced at the conference on June 5, 2015 at 2pm. The winner takes home half of the proceeds and the other half goes to AOR. The amount of the prize is dependent on the number of tickets sold, not to exceed $2,500.
    
2. ELIGIBILITY: This raffle is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry.
    
3. HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the raffle by purchasing raffle tickets sold for $20 either a) online April 29 - June 2, 2015; or b) in person at Sustainable Oregon 2015 at the Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center in Bend, Oregon, June 3-5. By participating in this raffle, you agree to follow these contest rules. By accepting a prize, you give us your permission (except where prohibited) to use your name, likeness, and statements for publicity purposes in any AOR publications. All entries must be received by the end of the raffle period.
    
4. DRAWING: The prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. The odds of winning for each entry are 1/total number of entries received. The drawing will be held on June 5, 2015 at 2pm and will be conducted by AOR, whose decision is final and binding. One winning ticket will be selected. The winner will be announced at the conference. If the winner is not present, he/she will be contacted within 30 days. The winner will be mailed a check within 30 days after claiming his/her prize. If a potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been made 30 business days from the first notification attempt, the person will be disqualified, with the money being donated to AOR.
    
5. PRIZES: The prize will be 50% of the total raffle ticket revenue collected during the raffle period. The prize will not exceed $2,500. Taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner. The cash prize will be paid to the winner by check within 30 days of the date the prize is claimed.
