Environmental Quality Commission adopts rules to implement Mattress Stewardship Act

Summary

On July 20, 2023, Oregon's Environmental Quality Commission adopted rules to implement the Mattress Stewardship Act (SB 1576 of 2022). The rules can be found in Chapter 340, Division 98 of the Oregon Administrative Rules. This new law provides for the financing, collection and environmentally sound management of discarded mattresses throughout the state, with a program developed and implemented by mattress producers.
