The last few years have seen a groundswell of startup companies and community-level initiatives working to address structural barriers to the widespread adoption of reuse and waste prevention practices. For many communities, however, the greater challenge is to sell these to decision-makers and a general public conditioned on a system of care-free consumption.
Join EPA, West Coast Climate and Materials Management Forum, and Zero Food Waste Coalition for this one-hour webinar to learn about the EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants, a new resource - Achieving Zero Food Waste: A State Policy Toolkit, and how you can include food waste reduction in climate action plans. The EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants funded by the Inflation Reduction Act provide support for states and metro-areas to reduce climate pollution, of which methane from wasted food is a major contributor.
How does one sell a group on the idea of reuse and waste prevention practices? With the general public being conditioned to a care-free consumption system, how do we move past this train of thought? Featuring panelists from three different NGO’s, this webinar looks to educate on how to advance reuse and waste prevention in one’s local community.
