Upcoming FREE Lean Primer Workshops

1 Jul 2017

DESCRIPTION

Whether you’re a manufacturer or service provider, lean will help you make the most of what you have while increasing efficiency, creativity, teamwork, and quality.

Lean theory and tools are based on the idea of preserving (or increasing) value with less work. But at its root, lean is much more than a productivity model—it’s really an employee engagement model. A lean culture is one of “no-blame, only opportunity,” a culture of collaborators that work together to continuously improve the organization from the bottom up.

In this lean primer we’ll address:

  • How to reduce throughput time on your processes, and expose “waste” through a lean simulation game

  • What is work and what are the 8 wastes of lean, and how can they help you think green?

  • What does a lean culture of collaboration look like?

We will discuss the following lean concepts:

  • Value

  • Pull vs push

  • One piece flow vs batching work

  • Kanban boards

  • Daily huddles

  • 5S workplace organization

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Kaizen

  • Process flow

  • Inventory management (physical and electronic)

Join Kjell van Zoen from vanZoen LLC and Brion Hurley from Rockwell Collins to better understand how to develop and introduce lean in your organization and your personal workflow.

Workshops will be held at the Hatch Labs on Monday, August 7th from 3:30-5:30pm and Monday, September 11th, from 9:30-11:30am.
