Recycling 101 - Revamped & Relaunched!

23 Oct 2017

After many late nights of editing and revisions, the R101 Update Team is excited to announce that R101 2.0 is up and running!

In partnership with OSU, the R101 Online Certificate Course provides a comprehensive online learning platform for users to gain knowledge on waste reduction, sustainability, toxics reduction, outreach methods, and more.

This extensive update pairs the latest knowledge and resources with an enhanced interactive user experience. R101 is perfect for outreach educators, students, teachers, Master Recyclers, and interested members of the public.

It’s been taken by people all over the world, as well as all over Oregon. If you haven’t taken it yet, you’re missing out! Learn more, and sign up for the course at  tiny.cc/recycling-101.

AOR is making R101 available at a reduced price. $50 for an individual, $35 per individual for groups of 5 or more, and for AOR members, it’s only $25 per individual. It’s an amazing deal, one you should take advantage of, share with your networks and put on your resume!

If you are currently in the original version of R101 and are going through the course, you should have received an email with the option to transition into the new course. You can also continue in the old version until December 31st 2017.

In addition to the content update, our DEQ grant funding we received has allowed us to put together a comprehensive marketing campaign in partnership with Enviroissues. We’ll be rolling out and sharing with you focus group workshopped ads for social media, print ads, and postcard mailers. OSU will also be promoting the course through their channels as well. Look for this advertising content coming your way to share with your networks real soon.

Huge thanks to the grant funding this project received from the DEQ via Recycling Advocates, and to our R101 edit team (Bailey Payne, Sarah Grimm, Pete Chism, and Amy Roth). We also had the excellent support of Tamara and Katie at OSU’s PACE program who did all of the development work for the rebuild.

Lastly I learned a great deal helping guide the team over the past four months, and by getting to jump back into this course since I first took R101 back in 2014. There is much good content that is helping educate a wide audience of change makers here. Jump in and join them!
